Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2013 Chevrolet Equinox- Video

Speaker 1: Today on our 2013 Chevrolet Equinox we're going to be installing a Hopkins four pole flat trailer connector, part number HM11141275. This wiring harness from Hopkins will allow you to get all of your necessary trailer lighting back at a four pole flat connector. That includes your left turn signals, right turn signals, tail lamps, and brake lamps, so you'll be DOT compliant in all states.On the end you'll have a small dust cap to keep out any moisture, dirt and corrosion. It's got a nice tight seal. It can also be used to keep your wiring up and held on to your safety chain loops. Curt Vehicle Wiring Harness Installation - 2018 Chevrolet Equinox- Video

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Chevrolet Equinox we'll be having a look at and showing you how to install the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with a 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number C56375.Here's what our wiring harness looks like installed. We have an adequate length of wire to reach down by our receiver on our hitch. Now this wiring harness gives us the necessary functions that are required by law in order for us to safely and legally tow a trailer. Our white wire gives us our ground connection that is necessary between our Equinox and our trailer, the brown wire provides our taillight and running light circuit, and on this wire we have a total power output of seven and a half amps, which is more than adequate to tow a trailer with several incandescent light bulbs or basically as many LED lights as we want because LED lights do draw significantly less power. Our yellow wire is our left turn signal and left brake light, our green wire is our right turn signal and right brake light, just like the taillight and the running light wire we have seven and a half amps of power output on each of those wires.What's great about this wiring harness as opposed to other options on the market is that it utilizes our vehicle's factory tow package connector. There is no cutting, no splicing, you don't have to power a module by running a wire directly to your battery. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2017 Chevrolet Equinox- Video

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Chevrolet Equinox we're gonna take a look at, and show you how to install, the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with the 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector. Part number is 56094.When we begin our installation, we wanna remove the taillight housing from each side of the vehicle. We've got two caps that cover the screws, here and here. You just take a flat blade on the bottom side and you'll be able to pop those off. Now, with that off you're gonna have 10 mm screws behind there, you could also use a Phillips bit. When using a socket they don't wanna come out, you kind have to reach in there and grab them, or you can take a piece of paper towel and put over it, and that should make it stick in there so you can pull it out. more

As you can see we have an adequate length wire to reach down even several inches blow our receiver, making it easy for us to hook up to our trailer, no matter where our wiring harness is on our trailer. We have this nice dust cover that's built in to our connector. This will allow us to protect it from the elements when it's not in use, and to help keep dirt and debris out of the connection causing a poor connection or corrosion when it's not in use. This wiring harness is nice because it hooks into our factory tow package on our vehicle. more

Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Equinox we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Tekonsha T-1 Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4 Pole Flat, part number 118494. Here's what our wiring looks like installed. Now, I do want to mention we do have it mounted with a short bracket as well as a 4 pole mounting bracket, but our wiring itself is going to give us a 4 pole flat, and it's going to stay on the outside of the vehicle until we're ready to tow. It's going to provide us all of the required lights when towing a trailer, such as your clearance lights, turn signals, and stoplights. Now that we see the end result, let's show you how we got it on there. Now, in our kit they are going to provide us with a few butt connectors, but I'm going to be replacing them with some heat shrink butt connectors. Anytime you see me use one of these, you can pick some up on our website using part number DW05745-5, and that will be for a pack of five of them. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2013 Chevrolet Equinox 118494- Video

Today in our 2013 Chevrolet Equinox we'll be having a look at and installing the Tekonsha T1 Vehicle wiring harness with a four pull flat trailer connector, part number 118494. Here's what our wiring looks like installed. As you can see, we can easily secure it up to our hitch safety chain loop here using the built on dust cover. This dust cover will help protect our wiring when it's not in use so we don't have to worry about any dirt, debris or moisture getting inside causing contamination or a short later down the road. Now this wiring harness has an adequate length wire on it. We actually have it zip tied up underneath our fascia right now. This wiring harness will give us our necessary functions as required by law in order to safely tow a trailer; for all of our tail lights, our running lights, our turn signals, and our brake lights. Now one nice thing about this wiring harness compared to others on the market is that it has a powered module, which will help isolate our vehicle's lighting system circuitry from our trailer so in case our trailer has short we don't have to worry about any damage occurring to our vehicle's expensive electrical components. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2016 Chevrolet Equinox 118264- Video

Today on this 2016 Chevrolet Equinox, we're going to review and install the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness for the Factory Tow Package from Tekonsha, part number 118264. We just pull out what we need, put the floor panel back into place, and pull out our wire. Our door seal's thick enough when we shut it, it's not going to hurt the wire and we just run out whatever length we need out to your trailer at this point. Now, when you shut the gate, make sure that this is no where near the latch because you'll cut the wires and you'll be starting over. Just pull out a little bit right here. We can go ahead and shut our hatch and pull out what we need to go out to our trailer. As you can see, we have plenty to reach down to our hitch here and our trailer should have plenty of lead with it to match up to this. When we're finished towing for the day, we can go ahead and hide it back inside and be one less item hanging out below your vehicle. This is your 4-pole flat wire harness right here, with it's own built-in cover. more

Today on this 2016 Chevrolet Equinox, we're going to review and install a Curt T-Conductor Vehicle Wiring Harness for the factory tow package, part number C56210. All right, now, when you're ready to use it, just open up the floor panel and pull out the wire harness. Put the panel back into place. It's not going to hurt anything. Then, run your wire harness to the outside. Just make sure you stay away from the latch, so when you close the hatch on it, it won't damage the wires. Then, after it's shut, you can pull out what you need to go to down to your trailer hitch and meet up with your trailer. You can see we have plenty of length to go down to your trailer hitch and meet up with your trailer. You got the wire harness itself. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2012 Chevrolet Equinox- Video

Today in our 2012 Chevrolet Equinox we'll be installing the CURT T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for factory tow package, part number C56210. Now when we want to hook up to our trailer, all we have to do is lift up on our spare tire cover here, grab our wiring, set it down to the side of our trunk latch here, close our trunk on up. Now we have an easily accessible wiring harness that is stored out of the elements so we can hook it to our trailer. Take our dust cap off, hook our trailer up, plug our wiring in, we're ready to hit the road. Now when we've arrived at our destination and we unhook from our trailer, all we have to do is store the dust cap back over the plug, open our hatch back up, raise our spare tire cover, lay the wiring down inside, and it's stored up and out of the way and we don't have to worry about it getting snagged in any of our cargo when we're loading our hatch on up. It won't cause any damage to the wiring that way either and it's stored up out of the elements. Here's what our wiring kit comes with. We have our wiring harness. It'll plug into the factory tow package wiring right here and then give us a 4-pole flat to hook up to our trailer so we have all the DOT required lighting signals on our trailer, such as turn signals, brakes, and tail lights. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2008 Chevrolet Equinox- Video

Today on our 2008 Chevrolet Equinox, we'll be installing the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness for a 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number 118432. Now when we want to hook up to our trailer, all we have to do is open our jack door here, grab our wiring harness, set it to the side of our hatch latch right here so it doesn't get closed on it, and close our hatch down. Our wiring is in a readily accessible spot right now to hook up to our trailer. We'll take our dust cover off, plug in our trailer wiring and we're good to go. Now when we get to our destination and we've unhooked our trailer, all we have to do is replace our dust cover here, open our hatch back up, tuck our wiring inside the jack compartment, put our jack cover door back in place and it's like our wiring is not even there. It's tucked up out of the way. We don't have to worry about any of our cargo damaging the connector or snagging up on the wires and ripping the wiring out. more

Today on our 2016 Chevrolet Equinox we will be taking a look at and installing the CURT T-connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for a 4-Pole Flag Trailer Connector, part number 56094. Here's what our 4-pole wiring harness is going to look like once it's installed on the back of our vehicle. Now this is going to be quite essential to anybody that wants to have lights that operate on their trailer. Using a 4-pole trailer connector, you can simply hook up those lights. You'll have a tail light, both left and right turn signals, as well as running lights with the set up. First thing we'll do is test our wires is to remove the cover then we'll connect our ground, and then we'll test out our brown wire which will be our tail lights. Now we'll go ahead and test out our yellow wire which will be our left turn signal and our green wire which will be our right turn signal. Now for the brake lights, which will be both our green and our yellow. more

Today on our 2011 Chevrolet Equinox, we're going to be installing the Tow Ready T-One vehicle wiring harness with the 4-pole flat trailer connector, part number is 118494. Here's what our wiring kit is going to look like. You can see we've got a yellow and brown wire. It's going over to the driver side. They got the T-connector, you see we've got an in-line connector right here, will separate the light, plug it in either side of the factory connection. Do that on both sides. The green one, single green wire that goes over to the passenger side, and this is what we're after. Of course, that's the 4-pole wiring. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox- Video

Today on our 2005 Chevy Equinox, we'll install the Curt Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-pole Flat Connector, part number C55560. To begin our install, we'll first open up the hatch and then we'll remove the spare tire jack tool storage compartment. In most cases, we'll then see the spare tire jack and tools and take them out of the storage area and set them aside for installation later. However, for this application, the jack and tools are not present so there's no need to remove them. At the bottom of the compartment, we'll locate the manufacturer's tow port plug. Here is our new Curt wiring harness. We'll have the gray matching connector to match up the manufacturer's tow port. more
